CHEN Menglin 陳梦琳
I am transitioning from PolyU to Shenzhen University (深圳大学), where I serve as a Professor in the College of Electronics and Information Engineering. I am also affiliated with the National Key Laboratory of Radio Frequency Heterogeneous Integration (射频异质异构集成全国重点实验室), working in the team led by Professor Mao Junfa, a Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
I received my B.S. degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China, the B.Eng. degree from the University of Birmingham, U.K., and the M.S. degree and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Hong Kong (HKU). I was an academic visitor at the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science at Queen Mary, University of London in 2017. I was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at HKU from 2018 to 2022. Since 2022, I was a research assistant professor at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
I have received many international awards, including the URSI Young Scientist Award in 2024, PIERS Young Scientist Award in 2023, ACES Young Scientist Award in 2021, and several student paper awards. I have published 29 papers in top-tier journals (12 as first author, 8 as corresponding author) and 3 book chapters. One of my first-author papers in Physical Review Letters was selected as “Editors’ Suggestion” in 2022. Another first-author paper was selected as “the ESI Highly Cited Paper (top 1%)” in 2019. Another first-author paper in Applied Sciences was selected as “Featured Papers” in 2018. One of my second-author papers published in Reviews in Physics was listed as “the Top Cited Articles for publications since Jan. 2021” from 2023 to 2026.
My research interests include (i) Advanced electromagnetics-based interdisciplinary research, including those in metamaterials, metasurfaces, and photonic crystals; (ii) Topological electromagnetics and its applications in microwave/millimeter wave engineering, and (iii) Novel on-chip metasurface design for millimeter-wave communications and integrated systems.

研究方向包括但不限于: (一)基于先进电磁学的交叉学科研究,涵盖超材料、超表面、光子晶体等; (二)拓扑电磁学及其在微波/毫米波工程中的应用; (三)面向毫米波通信与集成系统的新型片上超表面设计。
